Our experiences in life change just like the changing of weather conditions.
Our experiences in life change just like the changing of weather conditions. At different times we are faced with either pleasurable or harrowing conditions. Sometimes, we experience heart-warming success, at other times we experience heart-rending failures. Sometimes, we enjoy prosperity and plenty, at other times we endure poverty and penury; and so on.
Expectedly, many people change with their changing circumstances. When the going is good, they are elated and highly spirited but when they are hit by the unpleasantness of life, they lose the gladness they once had when the weather was fair and favorable.
Some believers cower in the face of challenges. They love, obey and serve God only when things are going on well with them, where there are no trials and temptations, but when things are rough they turn against Him. For some, however, they remember God only when they are in trouble, when the storm is raging they forget Him right after He calms the storm.
Reader, what stands you out as a true follower of Jesus Christ is your ability to hold on to your faith, Christian convictions, and love for God no matter what you are faced with. In the book of James 1:2-4 it is written “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing”.
Anyone who truly has a relationship with God will not have issues facing the challenges of life because he or she understands that the Lord does allow challenges to make us a better and stronger Christian ready to face any situation with courage. In Rom 8:28 It is written “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. To resist challenges, persecutions and trials when they come is to refuse spiritual growth and maturity.
No doubt, it is extremely difficult not to bend under the weight of certain challenges, especially when you rely on your human ability because it is written in the book of 1Samuel 2:9 “…by strength shall no man prevail”.
In the book of Eccl 3:1-2, 4, different phases and circumstances people go through in life was summarized. “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born and a time to die…. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance”.
Reader, have you been serving God faithfully and now you are going through difficult times? That is your weeping time; your time of trial. “Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning”. Are you carrying a heavy burden in your heart? Are sick in the body whereby doctor has said to you may not be physically sound? What is it that you are going through in your life that has made you concluded that all hope is lost? I want to assure you that God is aware. Hold on to His promises concerning your life. Hold unto God till the end. It is written in the book of Heb 13:5 “…I will not leave thee, nor forsake thee”. In same Heb 4:14-15 the bible says “seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin”.
David said in Psalm 119:71”it is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn your status”.
Don’t give up your profession, draw near to God even in this challenging time and God shall draw nearer to you. The bible says in Heb 6:10 that God is not unfaithful to forget your work and labour of love which you have shown towards his name.
Keep trusting God no matter how tough the challenges may be He will surely deliver you and set you free. He did it for Job, Daniel, the three Hebrew brothers, Hannah, Sarah, Ruth, Lazarus and many others who hold unto Him. Your deliverance and testimony is sure as you remain faithful to Him like Job and others did in Jesus name.
Remember, tough time never last but tough people do. Be tough by holding unto God through constant fellowship with Him; studying and meditating on God’s Word.
Stay blessed!!!
Shalom
